TEXARKANA-Beauty products vending machine is now located in Texarkana.

The Luxury Beauty vending machine is the creation of local entrepreneur Chelsea Soils.

The machine dispenses items such as eyelashes and hair extensions instead of candy or other snacks.

Soils is the owner of "Get Minky", a company that sells mink eyelashes, wigs and other beauty products.

Soils was born in Texarkana and grew up in Dallas. She has family here and returned after an unsuccessful job in Dallas a few years ago.

"I came back here with a suitcase to stand up again," she said. "I finally started my own business."

When she worked full-time at the Dillard Department Store in the Central Shopping Center, she started selling beauty products part-time

About a year ago, she was able to work full-time in the "Get Minky" business, and the vending machine was the latest product developed.

She said that beauty vending machines are more common in shopping malls and airports in big cities.

"This is something Texarkana doesn't have. It also makes it easy for customers to purchase these products. You have to be loyal to the customer base, most of my customers are in Texarkana," she said.

With a vending machine, her Texarkana customers can quickly buy the goods they need, even if the Soils happen to be out of town.

For customers who usually buy these products online, vending machines are also an option.

"They are products that are not normally available locally," she said.

The machine can hold more than 500 item slots.

Products include 100% Siberian eyelashes, ranging in length from 16mm to 25mm, glitter and nail art supplies, 100% virgin hair extensions and eyelash packs (including glue-free eyelashes). The prices of the products vary. The machine accepts cash and will soon accept credit card payments. Soils says these beauty products are designed for all races and genders.

The vending machine is located in the barber/beauty shop Real Kutz and Fadez located at 2025 Summerhill Road and can be used during business hours. Soils visited many local companies to find a place to put the machine.

The owner, Edward Walker, gave her a chance to use the vending machine in his store.

"I want to work with a small business, and he (Walker) is willing to work with me," she said.

The soil has always been interested in beauty and a person's self-esteem, no matter what plans they have that day.

"Women have always wanted to look beautiful. I have always been interested in beauty and its psychological aspects," she said.

She is excited about her future and where "Get Minky" might take her.

"I want to think globally through my business," she said.
