After witnessing a woman having an allergic reaction to surgery, BEAUTY fans cancelled their eyelash extension appointments.

The woman named Cicely shared a video on TikTok, documenting her extended journey-from the excitement before cutting her eyelashes to the shocking scenes in the hospital bed.

"I found out yesterday that I have a new allergy," Cecily wrote in the video, and then added that her eyes were incredibly swollen, which occurred about 10 hours after the first application of eyelashes.

Although Cicely's video prompted many people to admit that they had a similar allergic reaction, others admitted that because of her reaction, they had to reconsider their date.

"Omfgggg," a woman wrote. "I have an appointment for the first time next week... I cancelled it when I saw this.

"God damn it. Hope you get better now, girl."

Another person added: "Stop pppp, is this a sign??

"I have my first eyelash extension appointment on the 5th. Now I am afraid I should stick to it."

The third added: "I don't understand why tt (TikTok) would show me this the day before my first app."

Others revealed that their allergic reactions occurred after multiple appointments were postponed in the past.

"After I had eyelashes for 3 years, the same thing happened to me," someone wrote, while another added: "Lash extensions are terrible.

"I did it for many years, and then suddenly I got severe allergies. I still look the same."

Others commented: "My reaction was exactly the same. I paid $180 for the eyelashes, and then they all had to be removed."

It is not clear whether Cicely is allergic to the eyelashes themselves or the glue used to stick them.

However, in another video, she responded to someone asking if her reaction to the eyelashes was painful.

"The initial reaction itself was not very painful," she recalled.

"My eyes are swollen, my throat is also swollen, my body is covered with hives, and my breathing becomes very difficult.

"The only really painful part is removing the eyelashes. They constantly scratch with gauze and this lubricant."

She concluded: "I regained my vision within three or four hours. Overall, it was not bad."

Cicely added that despite her reaction, she likes eyelashes and will never tell others not to do eyelashes.
