Gotta keep our eyelashes out for Selener 👀

Arguably one of the most gorgeous and stunning actresses out there, Selena Gomez, just taught us a beauty trick that is literally *genius*. If you've ever had a hard time applying your favorite mascara to your lower lashes, using tweezers instead of a mascara wand is going to be a game-changer.

In a short video posted to her TikTok on April 23, Selena takes us with her on what she calls her "simple quick look", which is super natural and glowy. She obvi uses her own makeup brand, Rare Beauty, first starting the routine by mixing two shades of her new Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer together to match her skin tone.

She then goes in with a bronzer to contour her cheekbones and cream blush to give the face a bit more dimension. After filling in her eyebrows with Rare Beauty's waterproof brow putty, Selena gives us a close-up of her eyes as she applies mascara to the top lash line.

And here's where the starlet gets clever — instead of using the large mascara wand to coat her smaller and shorter lower lashes, she dabs some of the mascara onto the tips of a tweezer set. From there, she uses the tweezers to grasp individual lashes, gently patting the product onto each lash. The result? Seemingly perfect, babydoll-like lower lashes.

After seeing this trick, we needed to ask an expert on whether this method actually works IRL, or if it's just good for the 'gram and TikTok vids. That's where makeup artist and Morphe's face of the new Making You Blush Collection Meredith Duxbury comes in.

Starting with the basics, Meredith gives us a little lesson on how to properly perform this hack. "I first start by applying the mascara to the tip of the tweezers and then I gently go in and pinch two bottom lashes together with my tweezers until the full lower lash line is complete," she says, "I think it gives a different and unique twist to a makeup look!"

While it is super fun and trendy to do, Meredith does tell us that "It definitely can take more time, but it is so worth it when it’s completed!"

Running low on time but still want to make sure your lower lash line is poppin'? The makeup pro tells us that she "loves to take a mascara wand that is very thin and apply with that because it will avoid clumping."

And of course, since we're always on the lookout for what celeb and viral makeup trends will come next, we asked Meredith to let us know what we'll be seeing next on our FYP.

"Under-eye blush is a huge trend right now which I think is perfect for spring. It definitely adds more of a fun, flirty vibe to any makeup look," she says, letting us know that she uses the Morphe Blush Balm from her collection to achieve the viral flushed look.

So unless you have more questions on the hack at hand (in which case take a deep dive on lower lashes on TikTok), our beauty 101 class is officially dismissed for the day! Go forth and let your lashes flutter like Selena's.
