WAXED, located at 434 William Street, is a company that offers full body waxing and lash extensions and more, recently opened downtown.

“We do full body waxing anywhere from brazilians to backs, chests, brow shaping. And we also do eyelash extensions, eyelash lifts, tints, eyebrow lamination,” said Mindy Day, owner.

Day, of Williamsport, decided to start the business after seeing a need in the community.

“I did some research and found there isn’t anybody who specializes in waxing. Downtown Williamsport is up and coming, there’s so much down here happening. So we went for it,” said Day. “I really wanted to be in this environment. I wanted to be downtown.”

WAXED has a crew of trained and certified specialists for each service.

“Aundrea, she’s been doing lashes for several years now. She’s excellent at facial waxing and she’s certified in eyelash extensions,” said Day.

“Jen is our full body wax expert. Jen does Brazilian waxing. That’s an intimate service. So she had specialized training.”

The store also offers a selection of locally made accessories.

“Pretty much everything in there is local female artisans. I’m very passionate about women entrepreneurs. This is a perfect opportunity for them to showcase some of their stuff,” said Day.

“I love it. Like First Friday traffic. People walking by and waving. Just being part of the energy and world down here is just super rewarding,” said Day.

All appointments can be made online, from a website linked on their Facebook page and Instagram.

“The great thing is, you can book your own service,” said Day. “So through our Facebook and Instagram, there’s a book now. So you can literally book now. You can be laying in bed at 12 o’clock, be like, oh, I really need my eyebrows waxed. Click the book now and make your appointment. I would say 95% of our customers book their own. People love the luxury of just being able to do it themselves.”
