NATURAL lashes may be what you're going for, but one mascara hack proves there's a better way to get volume.

TikTok beauty expert Soph told viewers how not to apply mascara and to follow her method.

Not only is Soph a pro at achieving any makeup look, but she never fails to teach her followers how they can do it too.

In her recent TikTok, she backtracks to basics and urges people to follow her mascara tips.

Her simple method is the key to getting the most volume and length.

Soph demonstrates applying the mascara to her eyelashes in an upward motion.

"That's not going to get the most out of the mascara. I mean this method is fine if you just want to get something very natural looking," she admits.

For volume, your brush should start at the base of the eyelashes.

And look down at the mirror when applying it.

According to Soph, hold your mascara wand there, and wiggle it back and forth for about five seconds before dragging it up.

"Just wiggle at the root of your lashes so that you really get all the product on your lashes, and then pull up through them," she says.

The goal is to get volume at the base.

Soph does this about three or four times over on each eye.

"If you get any clumps, I usually take the end of the brush and go backwards down over them to sort of knock the little clumps off, or I will just take my finger and just pinch the clumps away," she explains.

For bottom lashes, the same method works.

Thankful viewers took to the comments.

"Yessss definitely trying this! I don't wiggle as much as this... You have gorgeous lashes! Stunning as always Soph," one person wrote, while another admitted: "Love this trick, I tend to end up with mascara all over my face though after doing this."
